ATRACTA is used for easily draping metal instruments surgery room during an operation. When using the drape, operation instruments will be easily available near patient›s body and falling of instruments and thus, their contamination and physical damage to them are prevented.

    Features:

    • It is made from medical-grade silicone, can be placed on uneven surfaces such as patient’s body.
    • Sufficient friction and adhesion between silicone and most metal, polymer and ceramic instruments of operating room.
    • Existence of small holes in drape so that it can easily be installed vertically (hanging of drape).
    • The drape is comprised of circular magnets which produce a uniform magnetic field and make it easier to place instruments on or remove instruments from drape.

    Instructions

Please carefully read this manual before use:

This information is to serve as guidance only. It is necessary to maintain all national regulations, standards and healthcare facility protocols regarding the reprocessing of surgical instruments and/or devices.

Before use ensure that the packaging has not been damaged or unsealed. If so, do not use product without sterilizing it first.

Caution: Do not use ATRACTA™ magnetic drape if patient uses a pacemaker in order to prevent electromagnetic interference.

    Directions for use:

If packaging is unsealed, open it and place the pad on patient’s body or an easily accessible location. Place required operation instruments on pad in order that the instruments are easily accessible to the surgeon when needed. If in a particular operation the pad cannot be placed on patient’s body, the pad can be hung using two holes near the corners of the pad for easier access.

    • If a drape was used on/in a patient with or suspected to be infected with Creutzfeldt – Jakob disease (CJD), the drape cannot be reused and must be destroyed due to the inability to reprocess or sterilize to eliminate the risk of patient/caregiver contamination.
    • It is important to clean and reprocess all instruments/devices immediately after use to prevent the build-up of biohazard material.
    • All instruments/devices must be thoroughly dry before putting away
    • If the instrument/device is to be put away in a wet condition, make sure the proper/suitable cleaning and/or disinfecting agents are used.
    • Follow all manufacturer’s instructions regarding mixing concentrations, effective temperatures and exposure times for all cleaning/disinfecting solutions used.
    • Rinse the drape thoroughly with running water after chemical disinfection. Refer to the chemical manufacturer’s instructions for proper rinsing procedures.
    • Ensure the cleaning/disinfecting agents can flow freely around the drape.
    • During the disinfecting cycle ensure the washing temperature meets process minimums per facility protocol.
    • Rinse immediately after disinfecting.
    • Perform a final intensive rinse using distilled/demineralized or fully desalinated water.
    • Complete a drying cycle per facility protocol.
    • After disinfecting inspect each drape to ensure the item is clean, not damaged, functioning properly and does not have any torn areas.
    • If any contamination is spotted repeat cleaning and disinfecting process.
    • Allow drape to cool to ambient room temperature.
    • If drape is torn or not usable, dispose of according to given instructions.
    • Pack the drape so the packaging will prevent re-contamination during reprocessing and reuse.
    • Check to ensure the sterilization agent will come in contact with all drape surfaces.
    • Store reprocessed drapes in a cool, dry and dust protected area away from regular staff traffic to minimize the risk of recontamination.

    Disposal instructions:

After repeated use if the silicone layer is damaged or if magnets lose their strength please follow the following instructions for proper disposal of the product:

Clean, disinfect and sterilize the pad and after ensuring there is no contamination from previous use seal the pad in appropriate packaging; indicate on packaging that the pad is sterilized. Send the packaged pad to Masstec Co.

At Masstec Co. the pad will be disassembled. The magnets can be recharged and reused. Like all plastic material, the silicone layer can be recycled and used for non-medical applications; the silicone layer will be sent to recycling facilities to avoid harm to the environment.
